Marutswa Forest Trail and Kokstad Cultural Trip This overnight trip in air-conditioned bus starts with the forest trail at Bulwer, a guided tour and chance to see birds like the Narina Trogon, Grey Cuckatoo Shrike, Orange Ground Thrush, Cape Parrot and Bush Black Cap. Overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfast. At Kokstad there will be a cultural tour including the Museum. On way back, have a look at Oribi Gorge, if time and weather allows. Fee 1250. Learn how to tone and use sound to balance the subtle energies of the body. Experience the beneficial effects of chant and song and learn how to refine listening skills. Ability to read music is not necessary. We all have a voice, re-discover yours. Manual provided. 6 hours of workshop including lunch and materials Fee R450 Zulu Conversation Stage 2 for those who have already done the basics of Jeff Thomas Course. This 6 week course,of 2 hours sessions per week will involve listening comprehension and conversation practice with Zulu-speaking assistants. A good opportunity to practice questions and answers, and gain more vocabulary in use. R750
Black Econonomc Empowerment – the uses and abuses The loopholes that have allowed the prevalence of fronting and the enrichment of a few individuals at the expense of wider capacity building and skills transfer have been a worrying factor for the architects of Black Economic Empowerment ( BEE ). The question is : 'after 17 years of BEE, where are the Black industrialist." - by Deon Oberholzer
BEE is competitive, the objective being to have a higher score than ones competitors in order to find favor with the client. The Codes place onus on the procurement officers to purchase from entities that can provide a BEE status level supported by a verification certificate.
The lecture will give a brief history of BEE, including its evolution from the mining charters until the latest legislation. This will be suitable for lecturers, entrepreneurs, business people and ordinary adults.
The fee will be R150 for 2 days, 2 hour sessions. Evenings 5.30 till 7.30. Offered by Menzi Maseko and colleagues
